CAPS Scholarship Portal

The Campus Application Portal for Scholarships (CAPS) is a centralized database for scholarship applications available only to Buffalo State Students! CAPS streamlines your search by housing the applications for over 200 scholarships in one place. 

 

Applying for Scholarships in CAPS

Simply log in, complete the General Application you will be auto-matched to scholarships that you immediately qualify for – no further action is required. You can then review additional scholarships which may require some additional information by selecting “Opportunities” at the top of the page.

Prospective Students: Once you have submitted your deposit, received and activated your Buffalo State University network login credentials. 

New scholarships will be offered for both the fall and spring semesters.

I received a CAPS scholarship! Now what?

  • Upload your thank you letter to the donor in the CAPS Scholarship Portal. View our Thank You Letter Guide for help
  • Make sure you understand the terms of the scholarship. You will need to meet the requirements both when it is awarded, and when it is disbursed.
    • Does the scholarship require a specific major?
    • Is it awarded for a single semester, or the whole year?
    • Do you need to be enrolled in a certain number of credit hours?
    • Is it renewable year to year? If it is, what are the requirements for renewal?

 

Graduate Students

The Graduate Student Association offers funding support for Buffalo State's graduate students for:

  • Research and scholarship
  • Creation and/or presentation of professional posters and documents related to research and scholarship
  • Participation and/or membership in professional organizations
  • Travel/participation in professional conferences

All full- and part-time matriculated graduate students at Buffalo State who pay the GSA fee are eligible to apply for funds.
