The 2026-2027 FAFSA is available now! When completing the FAFSA be sure to include the Buffalo State school code 002842.

The Excelsior application will be open for the Fall 2026 semester from May 21st through August 31st!

Fall 2026 scholarship applications will be available from April 27th through May 25th, 2026 in the CAPS Scholarship Portal.

Book deferments are available online two weeks before the semester and run through the end of the drop/add period to register.  

A student is only eligible for a book deferment if they are expecting a refund. This will reduce the amount of a student's refund by the amount requested.
