- Degree Works: Students should review their degree audit in Degree Works each semester to ensure they have registered for courses that are needed for their degree program. Be advised that courses not required for a student's program of study are not eligible for federal financial aid. In addition, there are time limits to receiving federal aid; taking courses that are not needed may result in a student's ineligibilty for federal aid before completing their program.

Maintaining Eligibility and Avoiding Pitfalls
- Students borrowing federal student loans must enroll in a minimum of six (6) credit hours of required coursework to maintain eligibility (typically two classes).
- Satisfactory Academic Progress: All students that use federal or state aid must maintain SAP to continue eligibility.
- Withdrawals: Withdrawing from individual courses or the entire semester may impact a students aid eligibility in the current semester and future semesters. Students are encouraged to speak to the Financial Aid Office before withdrawing.
