The above quote and motto above was developed by the Spring 2015 Burrell Scholars.
The Burrell Diversity Scholarship Program is designed to enhance student diversity at Buffalo State through supportive services, activities, and a campus environment that is highly conducive to high academic achievement. The focus of the program is to recruit and retain undergraduate students who contribute to the diversity of the student body and have demonstrated that they have overcome a disadvantage or other impediment to success in higher education.
An emphasis is placed on developing students' leadership skills. Prominent role models and leaders from the Western New York community in fields such as politics, law, medicine, engineering, business, and industry meet with the students to share practical information on their professions.
The Burrell Diversity Scholarship Program is administered by the Financial Aid Office.

Students selected to participate in the Burrell Scholarship program must:
